The
grilling season has begun. So whether it is down-home traditional American
barbecue or the finest meats slowly smoked over smoldering coals, we have the
books for you. May is officially National Barbeque Month, an entire month devoted
to great smoky aromas, fall-off-the bone meat, and tangy sauces. We just added
top pitmaster and restaurateur Melissa Cookston’s book “Smokin’ in the Boys’
Room.” A two-time overall world champion
and the winngest woman in barbecue, Cookston presents Southern Delta and barbecue
recipes full of smoke and spice. Her restaurant is one of my favorite in the
Delta. The baked and fried favorites, oh-so-good
sides and decadent desserts will stick to your ribs without going to Memphis. Check
out our display of books for more food that’s meant for paper plates and lots
of napkins.
