Teenagers
across the United States mourned fifty-five years ago on March 24, 1958, as
Elvis Presley was inducted into the army. He was honorably discharged from the
Army in 1960 with the rank of sergeant. His missing years are told in Andreas
Schroer’s book “Private Presley”, and in fellow soldier Rex Mansfield’s
“Sergeant Presley”, which are both available in our collection.
