Our display case this month has us remembering December 31, 1967 in Green Bay, Wisconsin where it was 13 degrees below zero and a wind chill of minus 46 degrees. Forty-five years ago the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers were playing in the NFL Championship game. Bart Starr, with only 13 seconds remaining in the game, dove behind Jerry Kramer and Ken Bowman to clinch a third straight championship in the Ice Bowl. The game was voted the Greatest Game in National Football League history and is available on DVD at the library. The complete remarkable 1967 season is remembered in Jerry Kramer’s diary “Instant Replay”, which is a reminder of the glory days of pro football.
