“It’s time to play the music. It’s time to light the lights. It’s time to meet the Muppets on ‘The Muppet Show’ tonight”. So begins “The Muppet Show” theme song that was first played on September 13, 1976 (thirty five years ago). This show had a five-year run. It was set in the Muppet Theatre, the show starred Kermit the Frog, a cast of Muppets. Fozzie Bear, Miss Peggy, Gonzo the Great, Rowlf, Scooter and two hecklers, Staler and Waldorf. The show has been broadcast in more than 100 countries and has spun-off into films and cartoons. We have the first season on DVD so you relive the shows or as the theme song says: “the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, muppetational… This is what we call ‘The Muppet Show!”
