Have you heard of Gordon? That was one of our genealogy questions last week. It’s the name of a telegraph station established between Reedsburg and LaValle when the Chicago and Northwestern built a second track. The origin of the name is unknown unless it is for William W. Gordon, president of a railroad in Georgia. If you wondered about how towns in Wisconsin got their name try Robert Gard ‘s book “The Romance of Wisconsin Place names”.
