During the 1992 Democratic Convention, we heard Bill Clinton say, “ I still believe in a place called Hope”. Sixty-five years ago in Hope, Arkansas on August 19, 1946, Virginia Blythe gave birth to her son, William Jefferson Blythe, III. Named for his father who died before he was born, he grew up to become Bill Clinton the 42nd president of the United States. Our lobby display case features several August birthdays and includes a wooden replica of a house in Hope where Bill Clinton learned many life lessons that later defined his presidency and his emergence as a global statesman. We also have a display of books by and about the Clintons including an audio called “Bill Clinton Collection: selections from Clinton Music Room”. This cd is of music selections that were personally selected by President Clinton for this unique collection.
