John F Kennedy 50th Anniversary

January 20, 2011 marks the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s Inauguration. During his short tenure, President Kennedy accomplished an extraordinary amount: the fight for civil rights, the call for public service, the peaceful removal of nuclear missiles from Cuba, the eloquent defense of West Berlin and a free Germany, the creation of the Peace Corps, the commitment to space travel and technology, and the recognition of the importance of the arts to our society. Our lobby display case is remembering the Kennedy legacy. His years had a major impact on the world, and left a legacy that continues to be felt throughout the United States and internationally. Kennedy’s presidency shaped history and inspired millions, including past and current heads of state, politicians, civic leaders and ordinary people from all walks of life.
