Lone Ranger- 60 years

Sept 15, 1949- Lone Ranger TV Premiere

This character was created for a radio serial in 1939 by George W. Trendle. The famous masked man was the alter ego of John Reid, a Texas Ranger who was the only survivor of an ambush. He was nursed back to health by his Native American friend, Tonto. Both men traveled around the West on their trusty steeds, Silver and Scout, fighting injustice. On TV Clayton Moore played the Lone Ranger and John Reid and Jay Silverheels costarred as Tonto. The theme music was Rossini's "William Tell Overture".

We have some Lone Ranger on DVD.
