Did you know that Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman) was born September 26, 1774 (235 years ago). Johnny had a vision to plant apple saplings and seeds across the United States so that no one would be hungry as they settled the west. Because of his strange dress, unusual manner and eccentric mission, he became a legend. Watch Disney’s “American Legends” which relates the stories of Johnny and other legends. Even after 200 years some of the trees Johnny planted still produce apples!
