40 Years Ago- Elvis Presley (Memphis Sessions)

Forty years ago, Elvis Presley made the most important recording session of his career at Chips Moman’s American Studios. He hadn’t had a top five record since 1965 when he walked into Chip’s studio. He recorded the classics “In the Ghetto”, “Suspicious Minds”, “Don’t Cry Daddy” and “Kentucky Rain”.

All them were substantial hits and three of them became “gold” records. Now the library can help you get an extraordinary insight into Elvis Presley, rediscovering his musical roots. We now have the “Memphis Sessions” in our CD collection. These songs stand as a personal triumph for Elvis, a performer at the turning point, an artist who that winter in Memphis was again sharp, eager and alive. And the music he created there will always prove it.
