Regarded as one of the greatest composers of the 19th century music, Johannes Brahms was born today May 7, 1833 in Hamburg Germany. His works were firmly rooted in traditional classical principles and truly Romantic in spirit. Brahms completed his most important work, Ein Deutsches Requiem after his mother's death in 1865. It is considered to be one of the best examples of 19th century choral music and was presented with great success throughout Germany. Brahms died at Vienna, Austria April 3, 1897.
