One of the
unique things about our library is that we have a separate local history
collection. We have local histories, cemetery indexes, family histories,
cookbooks and directories. Last year we added a new ST Viewscan microfilm
machine. This machine views newspapers exactly as they appeared at publication.
You can print it, email it or even save it to a flash drive. Our local history
website includes an index of birth, marriages and death notices from area
newspapers. Also on our website you can view hundreds of historical photographs.
If your ancestors were not from this area, the library still provides a wealth
of information through its subscription to Ancestry.com, which is available
from any computer here at the library. Heritage Quest.com can be accessed from
our website outside the library. Both sites contain state and federal records
and much more.
