Thirty-five
years ago on March 26, 1979, the Camp David Accord was signed. The Israeli
Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat signed the
peace treaty, ending the thirty years of war between the two countries. The
agreement was fostered by President Jimmy Carter. His years in the White House
are remembered in his memoirs “Keeping Faith” and “White House Diary”. Carter is best remembered for his
post-presidential works and Douglas Brinkley remembers that in the book “The
Unfinished Presidency: A Look at Jimmy Carter’s Quest for Global Peace.”
