One of the
defining moments of Brett Favre’s career and arguably his greatest game ever,
took place ten years ago on Monday, December 22, 2003. On Monday Night Football,
one day after his father died unexpectedly, Brett Favre honored him by playing
football. What a performance! Favre led the Packers to a 41-7 blowout victory,
setting a franchise record with a 154.9 passer rating that was fueled by four
touchdowns — two on acrobatic catches by Wesley Walls and Javon Walker. Favre even received applause from "Raider
Nation” and earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance. He
would also win an ESPY Award for his Monday Night Football performance. We have
the complete game broadcast on DVD of what happened that night in Oakland. Also
in our collection is the 2004 tribute book “Favre”, which remembers that game
in a dazzling tribute by the Favre Family.
