The best hitter ever to play the game of baseball was born ninety-five years ago on August 30, 1918. Theodore Samuel Williams played for the Boston Red Sox for 19 seasons, but during the prime of his career, he served as a navy pilot in World War Two and the Korean War.  Leigh Montville’s “Ted Williams: Biography Of An American Hero” brings to life this American legend.
