National Rivers Month

June marks the beginning of summer and with that comes longer days, shorter nights, family vacations, barbeques and National Rivers Month. This year marks the seventy-fifth anniversary that President Roosevelt established the Great River Road along the Mississippi River. The road follows the river for nearly 3,000 miles through 10 states.  You can enjoy history, bluff-top views, outstanding trails and charming towns along the road.  I have even found some of the best places to see bald eagles. To help plan your next trip, we have Pat Middleton’s five-volume set of guidebooks for the Great River Road. Every volume is filled with a variety of fascinating facts and lore.
