Cheers Ends - 20 Yrs Ago

Remember that popular Beacon Street Bar in Boston where Norm Peterson and Cliff Clavin were
patrons? Coach, and later Woody, was the bartender. Carla Tortelli was a waitresses and Sam Malone was the owner. “Cheers” was a bar where “everybody knows your name”.  Our lobby display case features a tribute to the NBC hit show “Cheers”. The show ended twenty years ago on Thursday, May 20, 1993. The final episode was “One for the Road”, which served as the 271^st episode of the eleventh season. We have the complete series on DVD and the final image where we find Sam alone at the bar, speaking these three last words: “Sorry, we’re closed”.
