September is Library Card Month

Visiting the library can be a fun activity for parents and their children. It’s here that parents can help their children explore new interests and, at the same time, enjoy a family program or pick out a best seller for themselves. Reading is an important activity as it influences all other aspects of our life.  Good reading skills improve grades in other subject areas for a child. Best of all, family time at the library won’t break the bank. The library and all its resources are all free with a library card! September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, the perfect time to make sure kids are equipped with one. A library card can give kids access to materials to research their papers, information for their next book report or that next book in their favorite series. Of course, library cards are not just for kids; adults love them for the same reasons.
