Beloved by generations of American children as “Captain Kangaroo”, Robert Keeshan would be eighty-five on June 27th. Remember when he made his acting debut as the original Clarabell on “The Howdy Doody Show”. I remember him as “Captain Kangaroo” with characters Mr. Green Jeans, Grandfather Clock, Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose. The gentle, patient Captain entertained and educated millions of children over the years. We have his 1995 book “Good Morning Captain” fifty years with Bob Keeshan.
