Michigan Statehood 175th Anniversary

Michigan became our 26th state on January 26, 1837. Referred to as the "Water Wonderland". Michigan is bordered by four of the five Great Lakes and, with the exception of Alaska, as the longest coastline of any state. It is the only state whose area is made up of two peninsulas, with the lower peninsula being in the shape of a mitten.
