Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a time to honor the men and women who are and have served in our armed forces. November 11th is the anniversary of the Armistice, which ended the First World War after years of conflict. President Wilson issued his Armistice Day proclamation and his last paragraph set the tone for future observances:“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nation”. We have on display some books about military branches and soldiers of the past. Come in and check it out.
