Hank Aaron and Home Run #715

April 8, 1974- Henry (Hammerin Hank) Aaron hit the 715th home run of his career, breaking the record set by Babe Ruth in 1935. Playing for the Atlanta Braves, Aaron broke the record at Atlanta in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He finished his career in 1976 at Milwaukee with a total of 755 home runs. At the time of his retirement, Aaron also held records for first in RBIs, second in at-bats and runs scored and third in base hits. We have many books by and about Henry Aaron including “The Man Who Made Milwaukee Famous” by Brewer teammate Don Money is more or less a diary of this first season back in Milwaukee in 1975. It is told through the eyes, ears and feelings of the author as he puts the reader in the locker room and on the road with one of the all time greats.
