Last week our nation kicked off the four year celebration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial. The war started on April 12, 1861 when Fort Sumter was attacked. Our Lobby display case features the Civil War this month. Publishers are releasing lots of new books about the Civil War, one of our new books is “The Civil War, the first year told by those who lived it”. This book is a collection drawn from letters, diaries, articles, poems, songs and more.
