Teen Read Week

The teen years are a time when many kids reject reading as being just another dreary assignment. The goal of Teen Read Week (this week) is to encourage young adults to read for sheer pleasure as well as learning. Also to remind parents, teachers and others that reading for fun is important for teens as well as young children and to increase awareness of the resources available at libraries. Our own Youth Services Librarian Kris Houtler visited the area high school last week to talk to freshmen about the library. For complete after school programs for teens visit the teen blog on our library web site.
