October 28, 2010 marks the 45th anniversary of the final section of the Gateway Arch being put into place. The arch in St. Louis reflects the role of the city during the westward expansion during the nineteenth century. The landmark symbol is featured in a large coffee table book we have by Robert Moore. Filled with remarkable photos of the monument few have seen, along with the amazing story of building the largest stainless steel structure in history.
