Golden Girls

Twenty-five years ago one of the greatest and most influential shows of all time premiered on NBC. September 14, 1985 the Golden Girls starring Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty hit the TV air waves. The show that centers on four older women sharing a Miami home won three Golden Globes for outstanding TV series during its run. We have the complete series on DVD here at the library. Betty White today at the age of 88 is still a major force in the entertainment industry. Over the past 70 years, she has starred in numerous award-winning films and television series. She currently stars in a TV Land sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” and is working on the launch of her own clothing line. Our Fall Library auction includes a signed picture and signed copy of her memoir, “Here we go again: My life in television”.
