The Titanic set sail on April 10, 1912 from England to New York City, but then an iceberg collided with the ship. The ship remained lost on the ocean floor for almost seventy-five years. Dr. Robert Ballard located the wreck twenty-five years ago on September 1, 1985. The luxury liner was resting on the ocean floor 12,500 feet down, about 350 miles southeast from Newfoundland, Canada.
