Children’s author Bill Cleaver would have been ninety years old on March 24th. Bill Cleaver became interested in writing as a child and spent many long hours in the public libraries as a young adult. He wrote 279 stories for pulp magazines and wrote sixteen novels for children. We have his famous Caldecott & National Book Award title, “Where the Lilies Bloom” in our collection. Mr. Cleaver died in 1981 at the age of 61.
