Also born seventy-five years ago on January 8 is Robert Osbourne Denver, best known for his role as Gilligan on the television series “Gilligan’s Island”. Bob Denver also played Maynard G. Krebs on “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”. We have many books about Gilligan’s Island as well as all the episodes on DVD. Denver recreated his Gilligan character as a bartender in the movie “Back to the Beach” which we have on DVD. He complained about having been stranded on an island with a guy who could make a nuclear reactor out of coconuts but could not fix a hole in a boat.
