Did you know that May 23rd is the seventy-five anniversary of when Bonnie Parker, the gun toting girlfriend of trigger-happy Clyde Barrow were both killed on a lonely Louisiana dirt road. As poet Bonnie had predicted: “Some day they’ll go down together… to a few it’ll be grief- to the law a relief- but it’s death for Bonnie and Clyde”.
We have the new Jeff Guinn book “Go Down Together” which tells of their journey into crime and mayhem. From the bad decisions, robberies, car chases and shooting sprees to the inevitable end of these outlaw lovers. Also available on DVD, we have the 1967 movie “Bonnie and Clyde” starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
