Born April 16, 1912- Garth Williams one of the most beloved and prolific children's illustrators of all time. Born at New York, NY he tried to become a cartoonist, but instead found success as the illustrator of E.B. White's Stuart Little in 1945. He became full time illustrator of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books as well as White's Charlotte's Web and George Selden's The Cricket in Times Square.
