Dec 27, 1947- The first popular children's show was brought to TV by Bob Smith and was one of the first regular NBC shows to be shown in color. Buffalo Bob own story is told in the 1990 memoir "Howdy and Me" by Buffalo Bob Smith. Available here at the library or watch on DVD the Howdy Doody Show.
